The 9880 R Guardian Electro-Magnetic Door Closer by Assa/Exidor is a swing-free door closer designed to meet the needs of care homes and public facilities. 

The Guardian solves the issue of doors being held open by physical devices such as door wedges (or fire extinguishers!) while ensuring safe passage for residents.

Power rated to EN4 makes this closer suitable for doors up to 1100mm wide and 80kg in weight. It is certified by Certifire as suitable for fire doors and is CE marked. 

The integrated door loop neatly integrates to maintain the aesthetics of the Guardian closer. This closer is a prestigious option, fitted with a low-profile, semi-radiused Satin Stainless Steel cover and a matching arm set.

Anti-slam:  The swing-free mode of a closer can allow a door to slam shut. Whether this is accidental, deliberate, or just caused by a draft, it poses a real risk to frail residents. So the Guardian closer has been developed explicitly with an anti-slam function that controls and slows the door's motion.

Drift Resistance : Exidor's Guardian closer offers a low-level control on the door, which stops it from drifting from its open position – eradicating the need to wedge doors open, yet still allowing the door to operate freely to the user. The 9000 Series is supplied with either a stylish square cover or an elegant radius cover and has a matching adjustable arm as standard.
